And this recent trans trend doesn't feel organic at all. It took gay people decades to achieve basic equality, but trans rights activism has been able to dominate mainstream media and academia after just a few short years.

Now certain people are trying to police our thoughts and language, using 'inclusivity' as an excuse.

I know I sound like a crazy conspiracy theorist, but I genuinely believe something else is going on.

No, I agree. It's either a psy-op or some sort of covert marketing or both, it's not grassroots at all. This stuff takes big money and connections, considering the almost unanimous front of corporate support.

From what I've read, the most likely culprits are billionaires with ties to big pharma, pushing this through charities and subgroups to get lifetime consumers of various medicine. But along comes the woke shit which is disruptive to society in general. It's some sort of combined effort between NGOs, big pharma and media I reckon. It's mighty suspicious to me.

You're probably right. Same-sex attraction is not the gender nonsense. You could argue that one has lead to the other, but there's also a chorus of lgb voices who are getting sickened and worried by this stuff. It's interesting and bizarre (and scary) to me that only 20 years ago, most of these kids self-identifying as "trans" would have simply grown up to be straight, bisexual, or gay. They would have had awkward and difficult phases, would have experimented with hair and clothes, but would have never gone on hormones or thought of surgery.

This seems like ideas being planted in kids' heads.

The biggest and brightest red flag is the push to teach this stuff in schools.

The vast majority of people are straight and 'cisgender.' Teaching small children about sexuality and gender identity is blatant indoctrination, in my opinion.

It's almost as if confusion is what they want. If you teach a child not to trust his own eyes, he'll grow up to be a man who believes anything?

Yes! Yes, I have noticed this. It's mostly straight liberals pushing this, and some straight men who seem to want to dress as women, and get into the women's locker room.

I really do think that 95% of "gender dysphoria" cases would stop overnight if the internet did not exist. Some would still remain, but they would be a very small number of cases, and most people would phase out of that, too.

I am sickened and baffled by how quickly this has taken off. Dang... Just in the last few years. And the things these kids are doing to themselves may not be reversible, and five to ten years down the road, they won't even feel this way anymore.

You know, that's an excellent question. With the exception of Saidit and work-related internet stuff, I don't go on-line much anymore. I'm a heck of a lot happier, I sleep better, and my mental health is better, too.

I agree that the internet is destroying our mental health. I bought myself a dumb phone, and I'm happier for it. It's not a cure-all and every part of your life needs to be balanced out a bit, but it's helping.

I use a TCL Flip 2. It's insanely simple. No app store. Browser, but it's torture to use. No touch screen, just buttons.

What I will say though, and this is interesting. A lot of these "trans" kids and even adults went through a period of self-identifying as gay. Before moving on to transgenderism once they realized that it was a "thing".

This does kind of make me wonder, is there some degree of overlap here, and I think it's possible. I have read a lot of stories of women who self-identified as butch lesbians for years before "realizing" that they were "trans" and trying to become men. So there is likely some overlap, though the overlap is not universal.

And, at the end of the day, I would argue that transgenderism is a social construct. Getting a crush on or being attracted to someone of your own sex is a far better documented phenomenon, and it's not the same thing as wanting to become the opposite sex. One thing is feelings and attraction and the other is a pathological hatred of your naturally male or naturally female body. There could be some overlap, though.

I think this is the heart of the issue.

Self-hatred is a powerful thing. It can warp your perception of reality.

I think transgenderism is like anorexia, in many ways. Dissatisfaction with one's body, that becomes discomfort, then dysmorphia, then a full-blown delusion.

Anorexic people (or schizophrenics or whatever) need help to see the truth, you're never supposed to validate their beliefs.

Because it's profitable, and they're training us to be terrified of telling these people "no". I don't know how this even took off so quickly.

And the funny thing is that even people who check all the boxes for being "trans" for years can phase out of feeling this way, and realize that they really are just men or women, and make peace with that.

The anorexia connection is valid. It's a kind of warped self-obsession which originates in the mind and destroys the body. It's very sad. It took me until my mid-30s to truly feel comfortable with myself, settle down, and be ok with every part of who I am. 30s, man. And these kids are making life-altering choices at 17. Or younger.

It takes a long, long time to learn who you really are.

These kids are being set up for failure by slightly older kids. It's madness.

I think a good solution is to try to meet the madness where it's at and just reason with people compassionately if you get the chance in real life. A lot of people would come around to sanity if they were just given the option to hear a sane opinion.

Or just politely disagree or refuse to validate this stuff in your own speech. It's important to fight back in little ways, and just be an example of a sane, functioning adult.

Another option? Go on YouTube and post some encouraging words for the kids who are de-transitioning. They do read those comments, and I believe it makes an impact.
