It seems silly, but if it's a general form given out to everyone, even in a sane world, if there are not a lot of questions relevant to only one sex, it's arguably easier to have a simple checkbox for pregnancy, than to have a section that should be filled in only by persons of one sex. Any idea how the form was previously laid out?

Yes, sadly that's exactly the stance they take.

It's crazy seeing as in some cities 50% of transwomen have HIV.

Its hilarious, but I agree its not unreasonable. There ARE trans men, and its not inconceivable that one could have been pregnant previously, and be refusing to answer the question because "how dare you suggest I am not a real man you bigot", when they really DO need to know if you have been pregnant or not. I can see why they are asking this and not comfortable with refusal to do so, and have to say I agree with the decision

Yes, but my point still stands. With a beard, surgery, and a bunch of testosterone, one might be able to pass and refuse to answer the question because their psychotic ideology insists they are real men. I don't really want to end up with pregnancy hormones from a blood transfusion from one of these people if I ever happen to need one

Man, I got some bad news for you about the water supply.

The simplest way to deal with this is just to always regard the question of gender as a biological one, people are free to live however they choose, identify as whatever, but nobody is obligated to play along and there needs to be a certain amount of reality reflected no matter who it offends.
