I take the story with a huge grain of salt given that it comes from the BBC and pushes the leftist narrative that we are all the same and all the differences in our lives are dictated by circumstances.

But if it is true it says a lot about why Afghanistan is such a shit country since the top finance guy is so unqualified in finance that he can't even get an entry level job at a brokerage or bank. As shocking as it is that he didn't embezle enough to retire while fleeing the country, which he clearly had plenty of time to do, it is equally shocking that in all his time as a finance minister he didn't learn enough about buisness to even be able to start a small buisness. Not even a YouTube channel. Not even a book contract from the shittiest publisher.

How can he speak English so well and be so incompetent? Is English his first language? Does he even speak pashtune? Was he nothing more than a western loyalist places there as a puppet?
