The only biblical objection to masturbation, is that you are thinking of people you shouldn't. Adultery in ones mind is no different than in the flesh. Of course, by combining what is in your mind and with your flesh, you are essentially indulging in the sin of adultery.

The only real way to get away with it is to get married and think of the wife.

People latch on to that one line from the Bible, (loosely quoted from memory) "it is better to put your seed in a whore, than to spill it in the dirt."

I'm not so sure people's understanding of that vague line quite captures what its intended meaning was, especially considering a history of interpretive language translations.

Yeeeahhh. That is not in the bible. That is a catholic commentary thing.

they took the following verses:

8 Then Judah said to Onan, “Sleep with your brother’s wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to raise up offspring for your brother.” 9 But Onan knew that the child would not be his; so whenever he slept with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from providing offspring for his brother. 10 What he did was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death also.

The expected duty was to impregnate the woman, not to just have sex with her. That is why he was killed. But some run with the idea that he was killed because he spilled his seed. Which in other parts of the bible is not a death penalty.

It's not even a penalty, except the cleanness regulations which also apply to regular sex.

That's different. There are tons of Bible quotes about jizz. A quick google search shows a bunch of websites saying the quote of mine doesn't really exist in the Bible.

Maybe it doesn't..., but I was told it by a preacher who quoted the verse, but it was dozens of years ago. Maybe he quoted some non-standard thing. He spent like 10+ years in preacher-school, not the kind of preacher who just signs a certificate; he was very educated in many ways, but of course knew Bible versus like crazy. Maybe it had something to do with him being Lutheran. That and I don't trust people not to try to campaign to erase and re-write things on the Internet; that seems common practice, especially with politics.

but I was told it by a preacher

Do you know how imams holds power over their followers? They're called lies. It's normal in the catholic church. As mentioned earlier, it is common in catholic commentary. As with any thing that requires people to actually do their own research, there are always people who lie to get what they want.

I was dating the preacher's (adopted) daughter. He was a nice guy.

Nice is a temporary positive attribute. Nice lets you get through the street without causing conflict. Nice does not make for a sustainable society, as even the most evil of men can be nice to the people they want to.

That verse fully supports the Catholic interpretation.
