Lucky kid. Where was she when I was 16.

That is crazy, if she fucked a 16yr old, that's only a six year age difference. At 17 my gf was ... Brain fart, 36 I think?, and that was legal.

I think we need to bring some common sense into these situations. This does not seem like a child predator, and those are the ones we want to stop.

I sense the issue here is that she was in a position of power, a teacher with a student is the same as a doctor with a patient, there is responsibility and accountability. If they just met at a coffee shop,I doubt it would have been a problem.

I get that, but female sex is an act of submission. If they want to give guys pleasure, that's usually okay unless some Horrible Bosses situation is going on.

If they just met at a coffee shop,I doubt it would have been a problem.

I checked just now, that'd still be illegal.

https://health.mo.gov/living/families/adolescenthealth/pdf/MissouriMinorConsentLaws1-4-19.pdf that says

13 year olds cannot consent to sex with anyone (§566.067)
17 year olds can consent to sex with anyone 14 years or older (§566.034)
14, 15, and 16 year olds cannot consent to sex with a person who is more than 4 years older (§566.071)
14, 15, and 16 year olds cannot consent to sex with persons age 21 and older (§566.034)

Watch, this girl is going to be a sex offender because the boy was 16 not 17. That's fucked up.

It does seem like oddly specific legislation, but there is reasoning behind it. Most adolescents are dumbasses and many need protecting. On the other hand I have known a couple that met at 16 and 23 who later married, bought a house and lived happily ever after. Probably doesn't help her case being in a country that considers 21 the age of adulthood. I lived independently for 5 years in full time work by that point...

I get the reasoning. I agree with it. What I do not agree with is treating this young woman -- who is so young she would be inappropriate for me to date (but totally legal), as a sexual predator in this situation.

There are real sexual predators out there. We need federal Romeo and Juliet laws.
