We have open carry in Tennessee. You rarely see anyone carrying. I have and have had a hangun carry permit for years. When I carry I do concealed carry if at all possibe. You don't want to be that guy open carrying when the bad guy decides to rob the place. It makes you the first target.

the only reason that i do not open carry is that i am a convicted felon.. it is funny that before i got my felonies, i never owned a gun as an adult.. but i did almost almost kill a guy with a pair of pliers that were about a foot long. i beat the crap out of him everywhere for about two hours.. when i thought i had killed him, i went and got a hacksaw and some trashbags.. he sat up as i was getting ready to saw off his arm at the shoulder.. for real no bs. serious.. i do realize that convicted felons cant even own firearms, but they can purchase and own a black powder pistol without even showing identification.. if i really understood the laws thoroughly, i would wear a black powder pistol in a holster everywhere i go, no bullshit.. but i dont want to end up in the jail because some ahole cop doesnt understand that black powder isnt actually a firearm.

i have never fired or loaded one of these things before, but i did walk into cabellas about a year ago and i confirmed that you dont need identification even to buy one, ffs. i understand that you have to put the primer blasting cap into it and then the powder and then you have to press some kind of lead ball into each of the six chambers, and from that point on it is just like any other firearm except that it takes longer to reload compared to a firearm that uses real cartridge style bullets..

when i was a kid, i had my own 410 shotgun and a 30/30 winchester and we used to shoot a lot.

also, when i was a kid my stepfather used to reload his own ammo, i thought that was cool.

edit: when i was kid, i shot and killed bigfoot and an alien, no fekkin bullshit. and just so the mods dont get their panties in a knot, this isnt advocating violence, it is just target shooting and hunting... damm.

You shouldn't shoot people on Halloween, not matter what costume they're in. It's murder.

Also, air rifles and crossbows. 'Not firearm' air rifles are used for hunting big game, and come in up to .50 caliber.

Can you suggest a link to look at those air rifles? Do they make air pistols in large caliber?

That should get you started. The youtube channel DemolititionRanch has reviewed some too, and shows them in action.
