Trans men (dumb teen tomboys) have been calling themselves faggots for the lulz for years now, not caring who they offend, so this is no surprise.

The trouble is slurs only work if people have a bit of shame over their identity. I can't imagine a single straight person feeling bad when they hear "straggot". They're more likely to think it's cool or funny.
