I don't think it's funny. Only people who like their 'right-wing disinformation' will think they're funny. The site is obviously pushing a narrative with right-wing disinformation, especially to a demographic that think's they're Christians, aka the American Taliban.

You don't have to be right or religious to think most of their stuff is not just funny but hysterical.

(Almost like the FOX News helicopter logo on the Simpsons: "not racist; #1 with racists." Or: Babylon Bee - No theocratic agenda; #1 with those who have a theocratic agenda.)

Funny examples, both.

Subversion by it's very nature can be funny.

Joke formula:

  1. This thing happened.
  2. This thing happened the same way, developing a pattern.
  3. This thing subverts the pattern and expectations by being unexpectedly different.

Occasionally subversion is tragic, like what happened to the Star Wars franchise.
