This film isn't a move away from religion.

It's whole point of the plot is to make the Islamic abuse of women look good in comparison to the evil west.

This is why it's shot to look as porny as possible, to purposely horrify people to make other horrible stuff, like child marriage, seem not as bad.

That's just not true. The "rebellious" girls are depicted as the heroes, and their abandonment of religion as a victory over oppression.

They think they're heroes but the audience is supposed to see how disgusting and damaging what they are doing is.

And that claim is based on what? Does the movie show them suffering consequences as a result of this that are not portrayed as being the fault of religion? I highly doubt it.
