Teachers in general don't understand how the world works. They live in a bubble where their own performance can not be measured, so they never have to compete. That means stupid teachers are on the same footing, get the same pay and benefits, the same raises as intelligent teachers. The same goes for lazy vs hard working. The only real thing that can make a difference is building relationships with administrators to get benefits through nepotism.

This is why they hate standardized testing so much. They absolutely hate anything that exposes discrepancies in performance.

This is a big factor in why they are overwhelmingly left leaning. Personal effort is worthless in their world while collective action through unions is the most powerful thing they know. So in their world collectivism is the answer to everything while personal effort is useless.

Teachers teach annd there are many good teachers. The useless are the hundred billion dollar billionaires; have no street cred and would not be caught using a plow.

Elon Musk has revolutionized the online payment industry, the space industry, and the car industry. He deserves to be a billionaire.

Teachers babysit the kids while their parents go to work. There are very few teachers who even come close to benefiting the kids as much as they would benefit from a stay at home parent who would home school them. Home schooled kids can get all their studies done in about 3 hours and actually learn the material, which is proven when they outperform state schooled kids on all standardized test.

Not only are teachers a shitty substitute for parent's raising their own kids, but they have become obsessed with brainwashing kids with their own political beliefs. Every single kid today has been told by multiple teachers that if their parents are conservative it is because they are ignorant. It has gotten to the point that if you aren't censoring conservative views in your class you are considered by other teachers to be a bad teacher.

"there are many good teachers" is just like saying "most cops are good people". It is a meaningless platitude. If you actually try to define what good is and compare it to reality you will find that the opposite is true. Most cops would not cross the blue line to hold bad cops accountable for crimes and most teachers would not cross the union line to do what is best for the children or their education. That is why they always oppose the voucher system and charter schools.

Charter schools are cool, ONLY if the are funded by the public interest in mind. If it is a national authority who has stock on wallstreet or is a member of US Inc. then that's a no for me.

You need to deprogram your excessive brainwashing. Your blinding ignorance is so glaringly obvious that it really hurts to look at. If I didn't think you were serious I'd feel certain you were pushing some agendas here.

Elon Musk did NOT do those things. Elon Musk lorded over teams that did those things. He exploited their talents and resources with his executive boards who take all the profits and get to decide what to do with them leaving the workers to suck on whatever scraps they toss them. NO ONE DESERVES TO BE A BILLIONAIRE.

You want democracy? How about bring it to the workplace? Where most people spend the best parts of their days and lives.

Are you saying that teachers, stay at home parents or grandparents are doing an unimportant job? Maybe you are only reflecting on your own life because you seem to be poorly educated and have a profound gripe for teachers. I bet you don't like me schooling you either.

The entire system has been socially engineered to divide communities, divide families and get as many people into the work force as possible. The feminist wave of the 1960s was corrupted by CIA assets like Gloria Steinem in order to make women think they needed to belong in the workforce.

As wages stagnated since the 1970s fewer and fewer families had the OPTION of having a parent at home and families not only needed both parents with jobs, now people even have 2 or 3 jobs and can't get by. THE ENTIRE SYSTEM IS RIGGED. It's not broken, it's fixed in their favour.

Our Prussian Education System is designed to make obedient, compliant, and productive workers - not thinkers. Schools are now brainwashing prison factories - but that is HARDLY the fault of the teachers who have a LONG HISTORY of resisting everything from "No Child Left Behind" (meaning no child gets ahead) to "Common Core" which is too terrible to discuss. Further, the teachers are not responsible for the corporate media propaganda from the left - or from the right like the tripe you're spewing.

Saying there are many good teachers and cops among the bad apples IS NOT MEANINGLESS. Sure the SYSTEM IS CORRUPT, but that doesn't make the people trying work and change from within it bad. The computer you are using was built essentially by slave labour with stolen resources - but that doesn't necessarily mean you endorse that.

Comparing authoritarian cops to generous compassionate teachers is apples, oranges, and stupid all round.

Teacher who starve to death are no longer good teachers. Teachers NEED to survive or they will survive by finding work that actually pays them - thus leaving the kids even more fucked. You can't rescue someone if you aren't in a position to rescue them - so teachers can't help children succeed if the teachers aren't stable.

Teacher's go on strike to have stability and therefore to be able to help the kids better.
