With the constant competition present in society having useful skills is a must to quickly gain influence over our surroundings. I'm not the type to overly glorify what people consider "status" but if we want to change society for the better we have to fight our way to the top. I think martial arts training is a very useful tool to get better in that aspect. Not even neccesarily by practicing the traditional arts themselves but by following the basic principle of martial arts of improving yourself everyday. Aristotle thought that constant training was neccesary to give shape to our soul and I like to combine all these ethics with the principles of Archery, my favorite martial art and Stoicism.
This is the philosophy that I myself created and that I like to call "Marcelism." Many philosophers have also pointed out the neccesity for a healthy body and mind in order to deal with issues and reach greatness. The perfect archer is the one who has learned to supress the self and giving one's life towards obtaining a goal. Your mind and body become the bow and arrow and as long as you imagine the target being hit, it will eventually be hit. So in this fashion any skill that you develop with constant training can become a way of martial art by itself...
The goal of the philosophy is to reach "The Agonism", the mental state in which you hunger for more conflicts in order to improve yourself. However, people shouldn't overly glorify violence because of it either, I just want people to develop the ideal warrior's mindset. So I think people should use the philosophy to bring order to the world around them. It is a patriotic, militaristic and tribalist philosophy.
