Silly question, everything made in the West since 2010 sucks.

so does the east make any good movies?

"Infernal Affairs" and "Let the Bullets Fly" are good, but I don't know that much about eastern movies.

ok, when I think of the east, I think of china, and their movies are laughably bad.

The 2 movies I listed are Chinese. "Let the Bullets Fly" is over the top, like many Chinese movies, but is entertaining. "Infernal Affairs" is a solid thriller.

it must be bad when the script was too bad for one of the transgender brothers to be involved

Lol, I had no idea both Wachowski brothers were mentally ill. That happened in 2010!?

Like Star Wars it recycles the original first movie.

There was more than one?

Before this one, there were three great live action movies, one animated (very good), and some games (never played).

If you think the sequels are trash, then there's about a 1% chance that you will really like the new movie.

You know it must be bad when the script was too bad for one of the transgender brothers to be involved.

Yep, not confidence inspiring at all. It'll probably crash and burn like Cyberpunk 2077.

yeah it's a shame, since the time of the matrix sequels, keanu has improved his career with John Wich movies which I do enjoy. I think it'd be possible to make a good matrix sequel but the wachowski brother here lost his mind a while ago. Cyberpunk the game if I understand it sucked because they rushed it and released it unplayable with bugs.

Please defend your speculative premonitions and/or explain why you didn't like the sequels. Like the first, the sequels had their pros and cons, and IMO the commentary on all of them is terrific, including Cornell West.

2021's Spider-Man and Dune were fanfuckingtastic, so not all hope is lost, but yes, there's a trend towards going woke and or being half as good, especially with only half of the originals' trans-sisters directing.

They've resurrected Trinity so we shall see if she's the strong female of the original series or they try to turn her into a woke Mary Sue diva symbol.

Above all the petty woke shit, I am curious to see if they try to negate or corrupt any of our common parlance that stems from the original Matrix series' concepts and quotes. They have already ruined Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, etc. and they have divided much of our understanding of common terminology - and it's only a matter of time before they collapse the Matrix and it's relevance. If they can do it to this they may "rework" 1984 next. Or V For Vendetta which the trans-sisters produced.

  • red pill / blue pill / black pill / white pill / etc
  • white rabbit / rabbit hole
  • battery humans in pods
  • wake up
  • desert of the real
  • simulation theory
  • etc etc etc

There's also the practical side of the equation and the agenda that Hollywood investors need to make money. It's less critical for the executives and banksters since COVID printed tillion$ for them and not us.

Trivia:
Did you know the trans-directors stole the script over 20 years ago and claimed it as their own?

Was I dreaming or did someone recently create a Matrix sub?

honestly good post.

I didn't like the sequels but on that point I can agree with your opinion that they're good because it all comes down to taste. I didn't like how it depowered neo and didn't explain anything but can admit they had good aspects.

I didn't see Dune but I saw Spiderman and agree it was pretty good. It had a lot of fan service and that's a good thing. It had plot holes which is my minor complaint but it's overall a great movie.

Yeah I'm mainly worried about the new Matrix sucking because it will be too woke, based on the trailer I saw. But a secondary worry is it will be more like the 2 previous sequels, not making sense, contradicting the first movie, and having a lame ending. Also I find it weird that they recast Morpheus and Agent Smith, seemingly not contacting their actors to be in the movie, and just to save money. That might not be true and they do appear in the movie though, like how the spider man actors had denied they would be in the movie and then they were.

If you're seeking explanation the commentary is rich with symbolic breakdowns and analysis. It's edifying even if it doesn't satisfy your itch.

_ It had a lot of fan service and that's a good thing. It had plot holes which is my minor complaint but it's overall a great movie._

Fan service is only as good as its meaning and execution. The Star Wars sequel trilogy was full of (sh)it and was completely botched. I could list dozens of other examples. What were the Spider-Man plot holes? I was stoned and tired last night and wasn't paying much attention, and intend to see it again in a clean resolution.

the 2 previous sequels, not making sense, contradicting the first movie, and having a lame ending.

Well like that's your opinion man. But I agree on some counts on some levels and I also understand the growth and expansion of many other broader concepts, though not really deeper. I also always had some issues with the first, so I was never expecting perfection.

Also I find it weird that they recast Morpheus and Agent Smith, seemingly not contacting their actors to be in the movie, and just to save money.

Seemingly. This sounds like you're speculating. Unless you've got verifiable reports. Obviously practical and creative choices were made and hopefully will be plausible, just like the change in the Oracle.

the spider man actors had denied they would be in the movie and then they were.

Epic and masterfully executed. Shame they all had to lie about it. Why not just say nothing?

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

they depowered him cuz it wouldn't make sense for him to have a fair fight with agent smith if he could easily beat him again, so it had no reason other than letting them have more fight scenes

the star wars sequels didn't have fan service which was part of the problem

if you're watching it stoned yeah you might miss things

were you stoned watching the matrix sequels? Might explain your weird opinion on them that you haven't explained. You're way too furious about shitty movies. Stop talking about needing verified reports about something I clearly said we don't know for sure yet. Clown.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I don't think he was depowered. I think Smith was liberated and empowered.

the star wars sequels didn't have fan service which was part of the problem

False. Star Wars sequels completely botched their abundant derivative boring and woke-ified fan service. The worst: Why have Luke, Han, and Leia in the movie - and not even have them in a reunion scene all together?

if you're watching it stoned yeah you might miss things

Just the new Spiderman which I only watched once, while tired, and it was a shitty CAM version. I can't count how many times I've seen the Matrix movies.

Resorting to name-calling to defend your baseless speculations about an art form inherently subjectively appreciated while still a proven popular blockbuster media franchise and a source of notable foundational meme-able concepts doesn't make me the clown in this discussion.
