suspension of disbelief is something I keep hearing when it comes to leading women in blockbuster action. "I just can't get myself to accept a woman can beat up a man", but you can accept Sylvester Stallone could show up shirtless with a bandana on his head and mow down an entire platoon of trained army men?? Blockbuster action is not supposed to be realistic, it's supposed to be fun to watch. Realistically speaking "John Wick" would have only taken out 3 or 4 guys tops before he got his brains blown out in the home invasion scene. And "Black widow" would have shown up wearing a bulletproof vest and helmet, and sporting an assault rifle in the first Avengers movie, she would've also died within 5 minutes of the alien invasion without throwing a single kick. Same goes for "Hawkeye". But who'd wanna watch that. Personally I'd rather see 'an inappropriately dressed for battle chick grunts as she chokes a guy out' scene rather than the more realistic 'guy breaks pretty girl's face' scene in an action flick.
