Not at all. Outside of a couple questionable casting choices (2 or 3 side characters out of a massive cast) that clearly favored “diversity” over talent , it’s completely devoid of wokeness or anything else for that matter that might date the film or even just hint at real world ideologies of its time. Really wish it had actually managed to tell a full story rather than just building up to a cliff hanger for nearly three hours though.

I can understand a cliffhanger. The first lord of the rings movie was like that, but what that did was make me go home and get the books. Dune is also based on a series of books so I'd have to assume they'd have a series of movies.

Casting ruined it for me.

Luckily, I have modern copies of all the old edits/versions in my archive.
