Let me get this straight. Fear of authoritarian regimes is making the film industry more authoritarian. ...Okay.

Is it fear, or is it just a love of money?

Probably both.

Woke Hollywood bowing down to communists, who would've thought.

Dalian Wanda (a Chinese company) owns Legendary Entertainment Group and AMC theaters, and they use them to push propaganda and siphon our money away.

AMC Theatres, not the whole of AMC. and that acquisition just happened recently... so the propaganda is still being pushed exclusively by jews..

The Zionists are pulling the stings of the Chinese too.

I changed "AMC" to "AMC theaters". I thought it was fine to shorten it, but that was a mistake.

Hmmmm, this was published by the Council on Foreign Relations. Surely that isn't something to be wary of!

Nah, fear of "authoritarian fascists" would have pushed its content in a totally different direction, this is fear of authoritarian communists.

This website is one of those annoying ones that tries to force you to enable Javascript by blocking the rest of the article with CSS until Javascript expands the rest (saying "loading" even though the entire article is already loaded in the HTML). This makes it more convenient to use the command line browser links on mobile. What a clown world we live in… (am I using that meme right?)

Perhaps crowdfunding or platforms like Patreon could help creators get funding to make media criticising authoritarian regimes. After reading this article, I would be very willing to fund that.

Reader view in Firefox seems to get around this, also archive.today works without javascript: https://archive.fo/QdPEa
