Idk dude, Deadwood and Yellowstone are pretty dope. I watched one on Netflix call Godless that was pretty good. There are still occasionally some good westerns, although I'd grant you that the Golden Age of Westerns is long gone, just wouldn't say its completely perished

I'm guessing you didn't watch this video essay to glean the thesis. Westerns were always by far the top grossing genre since films were invented, until social and political views evolved and by the end of the sixties, stumbling into the seventies, even adapting modern perspectives couldn't save the genre. Sure there are still good hits now and then, but the attitudes about conquering the American Frontier have profoundly shifted. You could say that American Dream has been replaced with the sci-fi and fantasy now dominating the delusional mindscapes.

You guessed right, I almost never watch video links. I'd rather read a long article than watch a short video 🤷🏼‍♂️ To me videos are for entertainment, text is for information with some rare exceptions
