I re-watched it. I think this is an Israeli fireworks show. There is 1 rocket coming from the background that appears to be different/Palestinian, but at the last second, it turns straight upward before exploding, demonstrating that it is also a guided Israeli missile.

Their missiles do all explode at the same spot... so it kinda works?

nice, this might actually show an interception. the palestinian rocket is the one mid-frame when the video starts, right?

Your life would be a whole lot easier if you weren't so easy to make believe false things. Also, if you could click links. I clicked twice and found this video https://twitter.com/IFNY2775/status/1516923044148748291

which clearly shows the thing you claim

simply doesn't exist

funny how that works.

those flashes are the iron dome missiles exploding. what an interception would look like is seeing a gaza fired rocket's trajectory, and seeing the iron dome rocket's trajectory, and then seeing the flash.

I've been trying to find a real interception video for years. It simply doesn't exist. Iron Dome news reports all use computer animations rather than footage.

Isn't it strange that the US agreed the buy an iron dome system from israel, but later backed out?

mind you, these were shooting down unguided missiles supplied by fellow-traveler arab states to target civilians. Iran could give the poor poor palestinians precision munitions if they wanted to minimize noncombatant deaths.

They do mention that yes. Old Tanks need Old Parts. Old Tanks need Old Tank Crews. Old tanks are also missing a lot of the modern tracking and guidance system. I still cant believe that the running and maintenance costs of a M60 is 6 - 12 times more expensive than a modern Abrams!

Old tanks require a lot of old parts. No old parts, no old tanks. Then there is the problem that old tanks can easily be defeated with new anti-tank weapons. Of course a functional old tank against small arms is no contest in a small local skirmish.

Sucks for people who have issues shaving.

Permanent No-Shave Waivers. Because of the safety risks that facial hair introduces in operational, training and maintenance environments and taking into account that proper treatment can in most cases help Service Members manage their PFB, permanent no- shave waivers are no longer authorized. Service Members previously issued a permanent no-shave waiver will obtain a medical re- evaluation and new treatment regimen within 6 months of the release of the revised BUPERSINST 1000.22C. Service Members assigned to a region or on deployment where PFB re-evaluations and treatments are not available are temporarily exempt from the 6-month re-evaluation requirement, and will follow the guidance of their CO for shaving until re-evaluation and treatment are available. At no time will hair growth exceed one-quarter of an inch between directed shaving periods.

I appreciate the support sentiment, but I'm not interested in starting yet another forum. However, I do plan on setting up a PeerTube and some websites this year - all for these projects, some interrelated.

One of those projects is not to set up another forum - but to lay the foundations for the next generation (or few) forums. I can work on 2 of the 3 critical aspects. I will not do the coding aspect, but I can develop the goals and plans for how we could cultivate a better community with stronger distributed leadership and democratic ideas and a public square to hash things out. It won't be perfect but it would be better than a SaidIt monarchy adrift without goals. I will draft a rough manifesto and collectively we can improve it, add notes, caveats, fork it, etc. Hopefully it might be a guide for many future forums. SaidIt is a good start, but we can do better, must, and must try.

The remaining part that I want to develop is the fundamental functionality of future forums. Again, I am drafting something of a wish list or to do list for coders. More important that simply adding modular functionality, I want to overhaul to improve some of the concepts and purposes and flow of the GUI. I firmly believe I have some serious new game changers for common sense features that need to be built into the next gen forums - as well as the well known things we don't have yet. Again, I plant the seed with my first draft, then others can provide feedback and help evolve it. If these are reasonably inspiring I don't see why they can't be made, even if it takes a couple years.

A good video, but I completely disagree with all of it, except the end sex-change bit, which isn't an either/or question.

The excesses of the military industrial academic complex, the deep state, the corporatocracy, and the current COVID Trump/Biden tyranny, and all divisive tribalism are all exceptionally problematic.

Military is NOT the answer or solution.

Thanks for making this /s/Military sub. It has been on my list for a LOOOOOOONG time, and while I have a long list of subs I want to see made, this was among the very top, planned for the next few weeks.

Oddly, I've been drafting a post about all these subs and other ideas and how I'm going to quit SaidIt as we know it to pull back, focus, and create interactive community and content projects. Keeping up on the news is addictive, but I already know it's all corrupt - so I need to be productive in developing solutions and maybe even make an income.

Sadly I fucked up my back a couple weeks ago and I just can't think clearly. When I make this change I want to be compelling to make an impact. So it might be another week or few...
