The problem is that the government then gets to decide what is real. They then censor what they oppose. For example, there are large groups of people that believe the US faked the moon landing and that 9/11 was an inside job by the government. The government has no right to violate their freedom of speech and their freedom of association with censorship. The truth does not need protection by censoring opposing views.
