Well, that pretty much confirms jet199 is a bot in disguise.

The Russian report was basically random news that no one has ever heard of about and hasn't gone viral. They don't even try to debunk if the news is fake or not, all they do is say that it links back to Russia.

The Russian website itself quotes a supposed anti-imperialist website with Adam Kamiński as managing editor. From his Facebook account, apparently Kamiński is a fake pseudonym, but we don't have any evidence that the Facebook account they linked was actually made by whoever Adam Kamiński was. The news site doesn't have a link to his Facebook account, which could have been made by anyone. Also, they don't find out if the editor was a Polish/Russian guy using a pseudonym.

Basically, from the evidence gathered, there's no conclusion on what's going on.

I think you missed the point, which I understood as: mainstream ruzzian MSM interfax agency reported as fact something which they'd lifted from a random blog, which had lifted directly from government propaganda. So the MSM got to enjoy the benefits of reporting government propaganda without the drawbacks of having to explain the source.

And it's just one interesting example of that happening. I think if you read it and only took away the sense that they hadn't dug enough into the middle man random blogger, you probably misunderstood the overall description of hostile information flow from government to MSM

Is the website that quoted the Russian government considered MSM? I've never seen it before.

  • You got the order wrong, the random blog is the original source. ModernDiplomacy --> Russian government website --> random blog

The guy who investigated this even says so: https://twitter.com/christogrozev/status/1586623916709134336

Then you notice that the Russian government publication is not source 0

  • A google search doesn't show the website (moderndemocracy.eu) in the first 10 pages of search results. The website itself doesn't even seem to work. It's a dead link. EDIT: It seems Christo Grozev made a typo, he posted a link to moderndemocracy.eu, there is no "Modern Democracy", it's only one site that re-posted the Russian piece (Modern Diplomacy)

  • Modern Diplomacy seems to have taken down the article: https://moderndiplomacy.eu/2022/10/27/poland-wants-to-occupy-western-ukrainian-land/

  • If it's Russian propaganda that's supposed to brainwash us, how come no one has ever heard of the "Poland taking over Western Ukraine" thing? A search on Twitter shows zero results for this Russian propaganda narrative.

  • Why would Russian propaganda choose something so meaningless to brainwash us with? No one cares.

  • How do we know these pieces aren't inserted by NATO's side, then used to "prove" Russian propaganda?

  • If it is Russian propaganda, then Russian propaganda sucks complete ass. Seems more like an indication that we should have zero worries about their propaganda ops. Unless you can link me to highly upvoted Reddit threads about Poland taking over Ukraine? I mean, you guys do a better job of spreading Russian propaganda than Russia does. I've never heard of the Poland thing until you guys brought it up.

Now let's look at the journalist who came up with this random meaningless piece: Christo Grozev

https://twitter.com/christogrozev/status/1586623916709134336

He works for Bellingcat, which is partnered with, sponsored by and supported by CNN, BBC, MSNBC, Radio Free Europe, National Endowment of Democracy, etc.:

https://www.bellingcat.com/app/uploads/2022/05/Bellingcat-Annual-Report-2021.pdf

Now, I know you and jet199 trust these CIA agencies, but the whole thing seems pretty meaningless to me. Unless the point was to show that Russian propaganda is trash.

  • Yes RIA is mainstream ruzzian media

  • Bellingcat are very legit, very accomplished ruzzian investigators

  • The claim about Poland and Hungary being actors in a three-way partition of Ukraine into lwow / Transcarpathia/ Ruthenia is at least as old as this war. I heard the ruzzian side saying the same before they even crossed the border.

how come no one has ever heard of the "Poland taking over Western Ukraine" thing

Honestly this reveals a pretty large problem in your knowledge base. Because the whole Lvov/Lviv thing, the whole Stepan Bandera thing, the whole Galicia-Volhynia thing was about a polish occupation of western Ukraine that went on for a long long time. So this reveals a bit of a gap in your knowledge here. From the top of Google...

https://www.politico.eu/article/putin-does-think-about-partitioning-ukraine/

https://unherd.com/2022/08/putin-wants-poland-to-invade-ukraine/

The purpose of ruzzian propaganda lies is not to sound correct, it's to drown out discourse in a mess of lies and false opinion. Hyper normalisation works on quantity, not quality.

How do we know these pieces aren't inserted by NATO's side, then used to "prove" Russian propaganda

That doesn't make sense to me. There's a trail leading through councilofrussia and the MFA, you cannot credibly ask whether the ruzzian staffers are possibly NATO agents working to make their employer seem like an idiot. (Otherwise, I can say: actually they're triple agents who secretly work for the ruzzia, pretending to be undercover NATO!)

So what's your point here? The thing about Poland was lost on you and you don't like Bellingcat because they have official partners. Is that really the best you have to go on

I'm not sure why any of that means I'm bot. Seems to be you just don't want me to post this kind of stuff for your own reasons.

Best reason is you are a shill, worst is it hurt your ickle feelz because you treat politics like supporting a football team and have corrupt politicians for heros. You think they are going to save you? Cute.

[–]Insider 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

well, why are you here if you're promoting pro-establishment narratives? No one gets banned on mainstream social media platforms for being pro-establishment.

You pretend to be anti-establishment, but then every time certain factual narratives come up that the government doesn't want ppl knowing, you go in full denial mode.

Also, why are your posts in here coinciding with posts from site_rly_sux? wtf
