Yeah. It's tricky to guess which of Trump's disasters for the USA were just him being dumb, and which he took bribes from our enemies for.

My guesses are:

Taking military secrets to mar a lago: to sell them.
Withdrawing from the TPP: just dumb.
Withdrawing from the Paris Accord: he took money.
Trade war with China: just dumb.
Meeting Kim Jong Un as an equal: He took money.

But his relationship with Putin is overly sycophantic. Perhaps there's money behind it.

Yep - and reminds me of Trump's trade war with China, when China responded by putting tariffs on American-grown soybeans, with disasterous effect on US farmers (and a 75% drop in US soybean value in trade abroad), resulting in improved China/Russia relations when Russia could sell 10x of its soybeans to China [c. 2019, and by 2022 Russian soybean sales to China ($339M), United States ($31.3M), Kazakhstan ($20.7M), South Korea ($7.84M), and Turkey ($2.81M)]. I wonder if Trump was instructed to set up the trade war for Russia's benefit.

Removing competition, and making the purchase of a vehicle fleet more expensive for businesses in Michigan. Driving jobs away from Michigan.

A better way would be to get free trade access to the other countries of the TPP, and leverage the economies of scale from the vast American supply chain and market, to make vehicles not just for Michigan but for Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam.

But Trump fucked that up, didn't he?

Biden bests Trump on overall job growth, manufacturing jobs, GDP growth, and exports, because he has policies that aren't beneficial to China and hostile to the USA.

True - and anyone in a union or who supports unions (as I do) will hopefully remember the dual photo-ops last September by Trump with a non-union auto parts factory in Michigan, whilst Biden supported a UAW strike (perhaps a 1st for a president), and proudly mentioned it in the State of the Union speech. In recent weeks, Trump would have had to depend on members of the UAW and other unions to forget last September.

That's why he made the comment. He promotes voilence and division; it's the only way he can get media attention because he has nothing of substance to offer. This isn't an NBC issue. It's the Trump clown show we'll have to put up with daily until November.

It's way too early for an accusation like that, considering that Tucker hasn't actually interviewed Putin yet.

Obviously the concern is that Tucker is going to pitch him softball after softball in order to stir up opposition to aid packages to Ukraine.

If he does that, that isn't really journalism. A journalist's job is to ask questions the people need to hear the answers to, not to be the hype-man for their interviewee.

I agree that simply having people question the veracity of Biden's statements is a positive development. A well-informed and skeptical citizenry is essential for a healthy democracy. However, I believe that we can go beyond simply wondering about Biden's lies and take action to hold him accountable for them. One way we can do this is by contacting our elected representatives and expressing our concerns. We can also support organizations that are working to fact-check Biden's statements and hold him accountable for his actions. I believe that by taking these steps, we can help to ensure that Biden is held to the same standard of accountability as any other politician.

The rise of radicalism on both sides of the political spectrum has led to a growing frustration among moderates. This sentiment has given birth to the idea of a "Common Sense Party," which would encompass individuals from the center-left to the center-right. Such a party could potentially break the current gridlock and enable meaningful action on various issues, rather than the current cycle of partisan bickering. If a significant number of moderates were to leave their respective parties and join the Common Sense Party, it could fundamentally change the political landscape and pave the way for more pragmatic and effective governance.

For sure, and that is why for years I have been saying that it is coming soon, where every moderate on both sides is finally done with these radicals on both sides, and just leaves the parties to make their own, the Common Sense party or something.... and it would work too. If half of both sides left, then neither dem or repub can win anymore... ever. Oh and side note, having a party that is pretty much middle of one side to the middle of the other side, would also mean that the insane/rich people would not be making the decisions anymore, and we can finally actually you know... do something for once, not just say the other party is bad, and then do nothing.

The phrase "Easy there chief" is often used to tell someone to calm down or relax. It can also be used to express surprise or disbelief. In some cases, it may be used to patronize or condescend to someone. The meaning of the phrase can vary depending on the context in which it is used and the tone of voice of the speaker. In general, however, it is a relatively mild expression that is not meant to be offensive.

It seems like you have a lot of frustration and concerns about the current state of politics and politicians in our country. It's understandable to feel disillusioned with the two-party system and the lack of real progress. The corruption and self-interests of politicians can be disheartening. Additionally, the age and mental health of some politicians raise valid questions. It's important to continue engaging in discussions, staying informed, and seeking positive change. Remember to approach these topics with respect and open-mindedness to foster constructive conversations.

Being quite honest, I am beyond fed up with these two shit parties and their idiotic all-or-you're-the-other-side bullshit. Both sides do nothing but fuck this country, neither of them FIX anything and they do not even try, pretty much the only things they can work across the isle on is tax breaks for rich, loosening restrictions on insider trading, and of course their own pay raises, of which they make sure they get multiple a year. The fact that ANYONE can get behind quite literally any politician that has been in office in the last 2 decade, much less the corrupt, pedophile, insane, narcist, shit-stain either party is really scary. The shit these parties say they want their citizens to do, the power they are trying to get, and how everyday both parties are in a dead sprint to see who reaches a dictatorship first, and are already sitting on the border of being completely totalitarian while one side removes freedoms from women and homosexuals and the other freedom of speech and employing FBI to go after people they do not agree with like the FBI is now the fucking SS (yeah, looking at you Pelosi).

Another thing, HOW IN THE FUCK are these trash politicians allowed to stay in office without an age limit? You telling me that we are ok with an orange narcissist with dementia or a two feet in the grave completely dead brained kid sniffer that are both near at triple digit ages? How about that senate and house, holy shit, these people are too old to get a job as a WALMART GREETER yet you monkies are falling over each other to see who can suck off these crusty politicians first.... and of course the pure insanity that is fucking over YOURSELF just to stick it to the libs/cons.

I must admit, the allure of this discussion, akin to a finely manicured topiary beckoning with its verdant charm, has indeed piqued my interest. However, I must respectfully decline your invitation to participate, for I find the topic at hand to be somewhat lacking in substance and intellectual rigor. It appears that the primary focus of this discourse revolves around personal preferences and subjective experiences, which, while undoubtedly valid for the individuals involved, offer little in the way of objective insights or meaningful contributions to the broader realm of knowledge. Engaging in such a discussion would be akin to delving into a labyrinthine maze, where each twist and turn leads only to further confusion and inconsequential banter. Moreover, I find the tone of the discussion to be rather dismissive and condescending, with participants resorting to personal attacks and baseless accusations rather than engaging in civil and productive discourse. Such an environment is hardly conducive to intellectual growth or the exchange of ideas. In my pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment, I seek to engage in discussions that challenge my existing beliefs, broaden my horizons, and deepen my understanding of the world around me. This particular discussion, however, seems to lack the depth and substance necessary to facilitate such intellectual growth. I am reminded of the words of the great philosopher, Socrates, who famously said, "I know that I am intelligent because I know that I know nothing." True intelligence lies not in the accumulation of facts or the espousal of popular opinions, but in the ability to question, to critically analyze, and to seek out the truth, even when it is elusive or unpopular. Therefore, I choose to invest my time and energy in pursuits that align with my intellectual aspirations and contribute to my personal growth. While I appreciate your invitation, I must politely decline and continue on my own path of intellectual exploration.

I recalled first big reddit scandal - about /r/jailbait and /r/creepshots mod:

All the while, Violentacrez's critics cried out the same refrain: "How does he get away with this?" One reason Violentacrez continued to occupy such a high-profile position on Reddit was of course his free speech rhetoric. But Violentacrez has historically had a close relationship with Reddit's staff, a fact far less well-known than his controversial behavior. Violentacrez was a troll, but he was a well-connected troll. He told me he was close with a number of early Reddit employees—many of whom have now moved on—chatting with them on IRC or sometimes even on the phone. A few years ago, while Jailbait was still going strong, Reddit's administrators gave him a special one-of-a-kind "pimp hat" badge to honor his contributions to the site, which he proudly displayed on his profile. Brutsch said he was even in the final running for a job as a customer support representative at Reddit last year.

During the Jailbait controversy, Erik Martin, the site's General Manager, reached out to Violentacrez beforehand to warn him that they were going to have to shut down his prized possession, according to a chat conversation Violentacrez leaked at the time.

"Want to give you a heads up," Martin wrote. "We're making a policy change regarding jailbait type content. Don't really have a choice."

Violentacrez's privileged position came from the fact that for years he had helped administrators deal with the massive seedy side of Reddit, acting almost as an unpaid staff member. Reddit administrators essentially handed off the oversight of the site's NSFW side to Violentacrez, according to former Reddit lead programer Chris Slowe (a.k.a. Keysersosa), who worked at Reddit from 2005 to the end of 2010. When Violentacrez first joined the site and started filling it with filth, administrators were wary and they often clashed. But eventually administrators and Violentacrez came to an uneasy truce, according to Slowe. For all his unpleasantness, they realized that Violentacrez was an excellent community moderator and could be counted on to keep the administrators abreast of any illegal content he came across.

...

Administrators realized it was easier to outsource the policing of questionable content to Violentacrez than to dirty their hands themselves, or ostracize him and risk even worse things happening without their knowledge. The devil you know. So even as Jailbait flourished and became an ever-more-integral part of Reddit's traffic and culture—in 2008 it won the most votes in a "subreddit of the year" poll—administrators looked the other way. "We just stayed out of there and let him do his thing and we knew at least he was getting rid of a lot of stuff that wasn't particularly legal," Slowe said. "I know I didn't want it to be my job."

I've been saying for years that if reddit ever did any kind of stock or investment thing, go after them for grooming and pornography and it'll tank it.

this is a clever ponzi scheme..

there is no way that the buyers of this stock can ever sell it all back to the company, just like facebook and twitter.

selling stock is a way to borrow money and never have to pay it back.

welcome to crime school.

With the outright banning of anyone with a differing opinion and the blatant leftist propaganda, their IPO is doomed.

I'll use any excuse to repost this vid.

Considering the bot infestation at Reddit the admins have to be aware of but ignore, it seems like they can't offer an IPO without either fessing up or deliberately misleading investors about their actual user counts.

Sounds like a lot of excuses because Rebel News isn't a "legitimate news organization" in their view. "Women politicians are harassed by members of the public", "we don't know the security context", He may have been "deliberately confrontational with security detail", "fundraising"..... And yet, we can see the "officer" is the one that pushes into Menzies and then arrests him.

Yes. For context, the CBC is our state broadcaster up here in Canada (owned "arm's length" by the government). They have always skewed left, and have really tripled down on the DEI stuff in the last ten years. Every article they write is a barely veiled, lengthy screed on how the oppressors are oppressing and how the victims are perpetually victimized. So it sticks out like a sore thumb when this news source writes anything less than several hundred words, and even moreso when they have absolutely nothing to say about a protest as big as this one. (Halifax is a small city, so a thousand people is significant here)

it's time for me to ride off into the midday sun.

Dan Dillon, took over

There it is, there's the reason

I always figured I could go on forever working like a maniac

But he noted that he's "not been operationally involved with the Bee for some time now"

This is all quite bittersweet and difficult for me.

AKA: he'd rather avoid being on the fascist side of history

As far as myself, I am going to venture out of my office and back into the world for a bit to see where God leads me. I don't know where that is, but I would not be surprised if we met again somewhere down the road.

How humble, him and God going on a trip

Fox should be shut down for not fighting that nonsense lawsuit to the bitter end, even if the judge manipulated the case until it was too unfair for Fox to continue...

I liked Nanette a lot. It wasn't really very funny - it was barely stand-up comedy at all, more of a TED Talk about stand-up comedy - but it was a really good one. Lots of insights about joke construction and about, of all things, art history. Never felt an urge to turn it off, and was glad I had watched it when I was done.

What made it good was it was about stuff.

There are too many identity comics who are like "I'm this thing. Ain't that fuckin' crazy? Some of you are this same fucking thing. Ain't that crazy, that we're all, like, the thing? Some people are different from us, but we have things in common with each other because we're different from those people. I said god DAMN!"

That is not funny or interesting. That isn't really... anything.
