Many of the other remaining Gender Critical type subreddits were banned. Detrans was banned and now has been reinstated.

That should be seen as illegal by US law, and also should be taken off of reddit because it's incredibly racist. Plus this sub is on the front page literally every single day, it's not a rare thing. So there are portions of reddit that white people are literally disallowed from commenting on.

This is messed up. This doesn't fight racism, it only encourages it. And it's so easy to see that. Yet somehow reddit still allows this.

Such big sites like reddit actually create something like monopoly. On such platform naturally "condensates" more and more participants because the bigger it is the more people it attracts. They created a virtual space where a large part of the general public debate has migrated from the real world. One of the reasons to migrate debate there was, that it was not censored. Now they started a very brutal censorship at least of some segments of the public debate. It is brutal shameless effort to manipulate the public debate. It is an unprecedented fundamental attack on freedom of speech, despite the platform is owned by a private company, because the company actually "privatized" the public debate space first, actually luring people here promising freedom of speech. This gave them enormous power, which they abuse now in a terrifying way. I am not US citizen, but I consider this serious abuse of power attacking democracy not only in the USA but in the whole world, as the USA proclaims itself leader and guarantor of democracy in the whole world. The core of democracy is free speech, because the basic democratic process needs permanent uncensored debate. Any breach of it is extremely dangerous. I lived for 30 years in a communist state and the present situation in the USA really alarms me, because it resembles me situation in my homeland between 1945-1948. I consider this action of reddit part of the crisis signaling that too many people in the USA distrust principles of democracy now, and that is worse than terrible.

So - Reddit just updated their content policy in an attempt to deal with hate speech. Inside is this rule.

Marginalized or vulnerable groups include, but are not limited to, groups based on their actual and perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or disability. These include victims of a major violent event and their families.

While the rule on hate protects such groups, it does not protect all groups or all forms of identity. For example, the rule does not protect groups of people who are in the majority or who promote such attacks of hate.

The way I read that, you can post hate speech as long as the target of your hate is considered a majority.

I was having a discussion on /r/redditalternatives about how you have to draw the line somewhere when it comes to forum administration regarding sexualization of minors, there have to be limits. Here's the discussion:

Then minutes after I posted my second reply, I was no longer able to connect to the site. It just says "You broke reddit!" and "whoops something broke".

Then I open a private browser window and it works again. So I log in to magnora7, and then I'm IP blocked instantly again with the "whoops you broke reddit" message. So I open up chrome instead of firefox, reddit loads fine. Meaning they've done a browser-print along with my IP to IP ban me. Still doesn't load in chrome, loads fine in firefox. Verified that like 5 times. Log in with firefox, instantly IP banned again. So they do a browser print and IP combination with their autobans, and I guess now my username is locked, so anything logging in to that will be automatically IP banned, so I can probably never log in to my magnora7 account ever again.

So yeah I guess I'm IP banned now for that discussion... of all the things to get banned for...

Furthermore all this also comes on the heels of 2 weeks ago, reddit admins deleted a popular post of mine about maxwellhill that was over a month old! I had this post connecting Ghislane Maxwell with the maxwellhill account and also the Hill-McGraw textbook company her father owned. The post had 500 upvotes, here's a picture of it: https://imgur.com/we14Caq

I hardly see how this qualifies as "harassment".

And two weeks after that happened my account is deleted after talking about the ongoing attacks on internet forums. It is possible I triggered a reddit autoban word-detection system (ironically probably to protect reddit against the very thing I was talking about in the post itself).

Anyway, I guess that's goodbye to reddit forever for me. This also probably means I'll never be posting on /r/saidit or /r/magnora7 on reddit ever again. Not a huge deal as reddit has been dead to me for a while, but I just wanted to document it so everyone can see that this happened.

edit: Thankfully, it looks like they unbanned it all after about 40 minutes. So it's resolved. Perhaps they have a system now that does the keyword detection browser-print-IP ban, and then they review those posts manually later and I got approved or something? It was definitely not a technical problem as it was clearly loading in some browsers and only not loading in the ones I had used to log in to magnora7.

Anyway, I guess this is all a big nothingburger, but I wanted to document the process I saw because I find this information interesting.

In the future it may be possible to import backed up/archived content to sites like SaidIt.
