I don't think he cares about the popularity list, as I dont think that sub would rank highly anyway. He's probably just lashing out, thinking he had an strong hand, running a sub that insults reddit while staying within the rules they had laid out. That's the new rules are so obnopxious. Surprise surprise, it's a privately own corperation, their rules are not rules, they just serve a PR purpose. Maybe there's some new rule they made up on the spot just for the occasion, "no meta subreddits on the popularity list", or something like that.
