Why not just close it. It's a matter of time before they wipe the sub anyway. You give an inch, they'll take a mile.

It might be a decent time to head over there and plug Saidit. There's a decent chance that Reddit alternatives could get massive up-votes given the temporary outcry. Why let another crisis go to waste?

Also, I think he's burning down the house in an attempt to get the some smoke on the frontpage. A valiant effort, but it will be lost on most.

It will be interesting to see if the dam breaks when they go IPO.

There could be a flood of new folks over here. Or Reddit may censor Saidit references, and the like.

They're in the psychological warfare business of thought control, so I wouldn't put it past them. :-/

Edit: Freespeechwarrior should be invited to join us at Saidit.

He may know of other enlightened individuals who are also seeking refuge.

The dude has continually impressed me for like 3 years, so I have a bit of faith, but so far worrying about this list of trending subs seems crazy. Maybe it wasn't entirely his plan, maybe he's just trying to do his best as a mod of that sub.

I'm chipping away at his requirements for a Reddit alternative. RES and the mod toolbox thing are on his list, as is public mod logs. Maybe I will invite him to check us out when we get all of those items done, good call.

Yes we need more free speech warriors. Maybe only for two years now but everything he says is usually spot on.

I don't think he cares about the popularity list, as I dont think that sub would rank highly anyway. He's probably just lashing out, thinking he had an strong hand, running a sub that insults reddit while staying within the rules they had laid out. That's the new rules are so obnopxious. Surprise surprise, it's a privately own corperation, their rules are not rules, they just serve a PR purpose. Maybe there's some new rule they made up on the spot just for the occasion, "no meta subreddits on the popularity list", or something like that.

Looks like the sub is back. Brought back to life by other r/WRD mods. Not sure on this but FreeSpeechWarrior got kicked out of mod team after this incident. edit: still a mod
