I'd bet that the real propose of this, is to monitor public opinions to ensure people don't find out the truth about Hitler.
It's the same reason that Holocaust "deniers" are vilified.
Your not supposed to know history as it actually happened.

I think most of the time in the politics sub, if someone mentions Hitler, they aren't actually talking about the actual Hitler. They're just using it in a hyperbolic sense to try and demonize political opponents, e.g. "If you oppose universal health care you are literally Hitler."
