I agree. Seems like some agent provocateurs went to the_donald, stirred up as much violence as possible, and then the admins responded by banning the entire sub.

Would not be surprised at all if the violence-provokers were in bed with the reddit admins in some form or another. Rather than just banning the few bad eggs, they decide to throw out the entire platform. Something they've been probably wanting to do for some time now, since they seem more driven by ideology (possibly because they're getting paid) than traffic

The violence advocated against the state senators in r/news and r/politics was out of hand. I can’t remember how many reports I made. Useless I know, but at least someone has to deal with the report.

Seems like the best theory. But also the reddit admins didn't exactly hold back either
