Which audience?

The exhibitionists.

Reddit may have "taken its first step against adult content", but Saidit already went full Tumblr.

What does that mean? Tumblr is known for so much shit that you need to provide some examples.

I mean a total ban on all adult content

[–]HorseMeat[S] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (13 children)

Oh! :/ That's an unfortunate decision to make. I can't believe we're already there. How come WPD 2.0 is exempt from this rule?

People getting their heads chopped off is okay.

Good-looking female bodies are the real threat.

It's all very lopsided if you ask me. Is there an ongoing discussion about the adult content ban?

[–]Wanga 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

There should be.

I'm not sure there's a process to petition for rule-changes.

Later on I'll look around and see. Right now I can't be bothered. It's definitely something we need to address if we want this to become a viable alternative to Reddit.

It's because we banned porn, not "adult content"

Your government is at war with at least 8 countries and this surprises you?

Movies feature high body counts and no breasts and this surprises you?

If they made murder videos illegal maybe they would be banned too.

Maybe if they made child porn legal the porn wouldn't be banned.

Maybe if they made child porn legal they might actually be able to find the creeps.

We'll never know because you can't look.

Maybe if they made real news illegal maybe they would get away with their crimes better.

Oh wait, they're already trying to make "fake news" illegal...

Your reply sounds condescending and manipulative. It's a good point that murder doesn't have to be worst than porn and you didn't address the point in any way. Naming child porn or wars doesn't add anything to the debate or legitimate your reply.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

It doesn't just sound it, it is a condescending and manipulative rebuttal to the same.

Systemic wars, mass media and porn, laws and cenosrship are all fucked up.

I'm saying the entire system and values and morals and everything is entirely fucked up.

I stand by my point even it it wasn't perfectly clear, with a little tangent...

Some things are censored and hide. Some things are censored and protect.

Who's the worse criminal - the sick and twisted child rapist or the sick and twisted geek with a copy of a digital file?

Who's the worse criminal - the sick and twisted murderer or the sick and twisted geek with a copy of a digital file?

No we banned porn, not "adult content"
