It's basically food coloring

[–]William_World 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

turns out that was always toxic for our food too and we shouldn't have been doing that

Everything is "toxic" now, it's like soccer moms control the public opinion on dieting. We should just stop breathing then since oxygen is slightly toxic.

I don't know how much longer I can put up with a culture where such puritanical attitudes and micromanagement are normalized. Diet is only one of many areas society is "cracking down". Social justice is only yet another example of the same. This is also why people support big government. They want to have an Orwellian utopia.

there's acceptable levels of carcinogens. I want to get it as close to zero as possible. Not add to it for fun anyway.

If no one is allowed to enjoy their life, what's even the point of fighting so hard to protect it? I'm unusually risk-averse and even I see that this is living in fear. I suppose this might be the consequence of increasing secularism, people think: life should be extended at any and all costs, even if that makes it even more miserable, because once it's over so are you. Even if that were somehow true I still think quality beats quantity, yet people have this all-encompassing fear of death.

not allowed? you can poison yourself with "food coloring" if you want, no law against it. Tho yellow 5 for example is banned in some countries.

It's just stupid. Once upon a time we didn't micromanage and worry about every little thing like this, and people were still perfectly fine, and happier.

I do want the FDA to ban some things that are dangerous, I can't run everything thru a lab myself to see if it's healthy before I eat it. Yes they're corrupt, we need to just base it on science but right now scientists are compromised.

But the risks of food coloring are hardly worth a ban, or even avoiding it.

Food coloring...... does that mean they'll eat the dog after😨😨😨?!

I thought the same, but then again, I don't know whether somebody came up with some non-toxic colorings for pooch hair, so given my lack of certainty, I did not say anything.
