Interesting about the admin-level tools. I've always thought this mod takeover business must be, on some level, tacitly approved by the reddit admins. They're getting paid to look the other way, either by bribes or just through their fear of affecting their growing user numbers (much of which is bots), which is the basis for their company's valuation. So they encourage all these "mini fiefdoms" where moderators go nuts banning people
