Well let's be a bit fair. I don't think these people are faking it, they're doing what any cult does which is try to make up reasons why it must be true. It's like reading the really bad logical defenses of Christianity. If you ever have doubts that god exists, that means that god must exist, because if he didn't exist then Satan wouldn't make you feel doubt.

The core problem is acceptance but it's self acceptance. Lots of what you see them go on about is classic projection. You think "maybe I just like the attention and don't actually like the girly stuff" then come up with reasons why that can't be true, when really you should just learn to accept yourself as you are, and that includes looking at the negative aspects of yourself, and accepting those as well.

Here's the thing, these thoughts won't go away. Ever. They'll always be there. Because these thoughts are coming from you, they are true. You just choose not to accept them. Which is the real phobia, fear of realizing your own shortcomings.
