Remember during Trump when states' rights was some holy concept, enabling individual states to resist a tyrannical federal government and California and New York were seriously considering secession?

Try reminding Reddit of that and see how fast you get censored.

They only support states' rights when the state is doing something they like.

Or when Kyle crosses them.

"It's OK for illegals to cross international borders because there should be no such thing as borders and they are imaginary lines."

Kyle crosses a state line to a town he works in, 15 minutes from his house

"NO, not like that!!"

The "United states" was formed with the understanding that any state has the ability, and right, to secede. If more states exercised this power, we would have much more control over, what is quickly becoming, a tyrannical central government.

They are psychopaths. Why would they lose their shit over a red state they loathe considering secession? They told everyone to leave if they do not like it. They should be applauding this.

Yet, they are angered over it, you see this in a lot of abusive relationships when they torment they other half and then demand they not leave.

At any given moment, somebody in Texas is talking about secession. 😬 And it's not such a bad idea.

Within it's voting bloc, TEXIT, the Texas secessionist movement, has a dues paying membership base placing it firmly in the top ten supported issues in America.

Texans want independence. Issues with far less support have easily passed Texas resolutions in the past.

I support Texas in its quest for independence. I am not a native but have spent over a year there and cherish my fond memories of the state and its freedom-loving people. It is too bad that so many Californians are moving there.

The California migration is worrying but from the one's I have spoken with, they tend to be very conservative. Many even homeschool their kids in programs that are religious based.

Sounds all right then. After the tech bubble burst back in 1999, a bunch them started moving to The Big Island of Hawaii and that area has never really recovered.

Sidestepping the question (to me at least) of whether or not we're already at war.

Open calls for violence all around now. I see people armed at every event. We are at war.

This might explain the shortages of Kleenex and KY jelly observed in many areas recently.

The funny part is, without Texas there is no way for a GOP president. So if Texit happens, more red states will follow very promptly.

Fact is - it would be a great benefit to the other states if Texas were no longer part of the US. Texas has been nothing but trouble for the US for decades.

[–]agent_pecan 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

Texas would be in the top 10 economies in the world. Win win for national everyone.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

And will offer a quality of life that is similar to the bottom 10 nations, especially when green energy replaces oil/gas dependency. Extreme income inequality in Texas will desrtoy people's lives there.

Texas is also home to a ton of big business, even without oil and gas, Texas produces a lot of stuff from food to software. You're crazy to think that Texas would be miserable. The facts of Texas don't support with that idea

There is way too much wealth and Human Resources for that. Texas would become an even bigger magnet for business if it could shed the federal leech.

    Your title is fake bullshit.

Reading the comments, they don't appear to be "losing their shit" but point out how TX isn't gonna do shit.

    [–]agent_pecan 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Texas is working on it, not just elections but growing the state defense force, the state military who reports only to the governor, substantially.

    [–]agent_pecan 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

    Texit!
