I left Reddit due to the awful treatment of so many there if it was a sub where your opinion was not in line with the others. And yes, most were dominated by the liberals but the Conservative sub, of which I am, was a cess pool as well. I see small signs of this happening here in the short time I've been here. Was trying to find a decent forum where discussing politics and other subjects were not dominated by one side vs another and the ability to spew filth. City-Data.com is pretty good as the moderation will remove anyone getting out of hand but it also seems to be a dying forum as well. That being said as a Christian I am conflicted. I do not wish an abortion on any woman but I also believe there should be exemptions for say rape and incest. It's not easy for me to even go along with this much but I have softened my opinions on this over the years. And admittedly, I do not have the answers at all.

It's true that conservatives dominate the argument here, every forum is probably going to have a majority. But the nice thing is that you're allowed to express disagreement without getting banned. If there's a particular user who is overly hostile, you can just block them. Saidit isn't perfect, but there aren't a lot of options out there right now.

No doubt. This is far from being Reddit but a few I've read make me wonder if it is Reddit lite.

The difference here is they haven't infiltrated the admin team and seized control over the site itself and every major sub (yet).

What else are you expecting on hot button political issues where the opinions are mutually exclusive and there is zero middle ground?

The left sees abortion as both life saving healthcare and way to untether human biology from responsibility so sex can become a commodity.

The right see abortion as literal murder.

The left will never settle for just a little life saving healthcare or a little commodity sex.

The right will never settle for just a little murder.

There is no middle ground. Inevitably, tempers flair as each side sees the other as a monster standing in the way of correcting an injustice.

I'd agree with you insofar that I just don't have the energy for all the toxic negativity, even if I do believe liberals are horribly immoral and especially hypocritical on the topic of abortion. But hey, the Internet is where people vent.
