It's a pity they have a kid. Otherwise he could just leave her to it. Maybe he could anyway. Presumably she wants to try for a new man one last time while she thinks she still can. Most likely he'll have the opportunity to pick her up again after the new guy has pumped and dumped her. It is just sad that females are given a choice. Everyone would be much happier if they weren't.
