So, reddit has more or less turned into an echo chamber, and that's not a good thing. But how would you know if you were in an echo chamber not getting all the different perspectives? What would you be blind to?
I would suggest that if you don't see dissenting viewpoints, you're probably in an echo chamber and you'd be wise to check different sites to see if you're missing important information.

Reddit is most useful to me for the financial subs, that's the only thing that comes to mind that can't be found elsewhere -- taking the pulse of a large sample of retail investors. But also, I only need to be able to read other people's posts and comments for that, I don't need a working account.
