Have you ever maintained a pool? It's a lot of water, you don't just dump it like old bathwater and refill it, you treat it constantly and that's a fairly intensive process. The goal is how do you turn that muck into crystal clear clean water.

I think that's an interesting topic because I have maintained a pool and it's a pain in the ass even when it doesn't look like a swamp.

I figure he'd probably want to use a flocculant to drop everything to the bottom, sweep it out, shock it, probably fucking repeat that until it's clean again with lots of filter cleaning in between. It's a lot of work, probably a multi-day process.

Nah man this is beyond maintenance. When it gets this bad you pump it almost dry, pressure wash the walls/floor, pump that out too, then refill. Anything left in the pump, pipes, and filters after that you can treat.

It's a lot of work, probably a multi-day process.

Mark Milley of the joint chiefs of staff has been accused of high treason today. While just one of many important things taking place in the world, Reddit has instead decided to suppress that information, and promote pool maintenance as original content.

It's pool maintenance.

I have / do. I bought a DE filter for my pool this year. Best thing I ever did. Didn't have to add hardly anything for chemicals all year and it stayed balanced (maybe a total of 1 gallon of muriatic acid, not including initial balance in the spring), so it has actually pretty much paid for itself already and required a lot less work on my part. Now, the sand filter I had previously, well, that was a constant pain in the ass.

I'd think something like is shown here would need to be pumped out. Yeah, it takes some time, but in the end, that's going to be the best and quickest way.
