That's all humans. Men unfortunately actually have less capacity for empathy, they're just taught that they're a bad person if they don't and they have to be responsible and courteous people. Women are taught to take to take and only give back if they feel like it, and manipulate through emotions, sex, and primal instincts. Yet again all the responsibility falls on men even when they can't do it as well.

If it matches chimps, the higher status males have the greatest empathy while the lowest status males have the least. The reverse trend is true for the females but the extreme absolute values on the spectrum of empathy are dominated by the males.

In my experience it's always the opposite. Those with lower status at least understand the struggle and shape good character. Those at the top are selfish and unrestrained, as much as they put up an act of being good people.

In humans the rich see those far below as of another class of animal. In chimps that would be equivalent to being of another tribe, which they will tear limb from limb and eat them if they find them alone. Mammalian dynamics only work up to a certain scale before breaking down.

Humans would do that too and often do. Civilized nations are just usually smart enough to avoid that kind of conflict. And people at the top like Bill Gates and Kim Jong Un do it all the time. Even their loyalty to their own group members is still mostly for their own benefit, not out of any true compassion.
