I concede there are many things said here that wouldn't be allowed elsewhere. I don't think it's usually borne from hatred or fear though. A lot of times they're things people don't want to hear and they get shut down by labels like transphobia or racism, but it doesn't mean it shouldn't be discussed. Aimee Challenor is a good example of that. Criticizing her was considered transphobic and a banable offense on Reddit.

i hope you're acting in good faith. sometimes the best way to promote something is yelling 'ban x' when actually 3 people on the internet heard about x. since a major platform wants to ban x, x instantly becomes that much more important and thus that much more popular and indeed, powerful. this is actually one way to grow saidit.

i think one has to look closer into why reddit became what it is today. i don't think getting big is the entire reason behind its corruption.

edit: there are other possible pahts saidit could take. gab is quite big and is, as intended, a conservative circlejerk, even more so than reddit is a progressive circlejerk, if i'm not mistaken. 9gag has turned into one giant recycle bin.
