You don't hire politicians as admins; there's a clear conflict of interest when you would personally benefit from manipulating the narrative — which is exactly what they've been doing.

Although I wouldn't manipulate the narrative here on SaidIt, and there are checks against me doing so, I will resign as admin when I run for office in 2024 out of principle.

I mean... Like 5% of reddit's owned by a Chinese tech company. As I understand, there's no such thing as a private Chinese tech company.

Exactly! Tencent paid them $150M in 2019 and they banned r/the_donald little over a year later. Seems suspicious to me.....

I am more concerned with Reddit's approaches since 2019 to get much more information from me, with extra login requirements, tracking &c. I suspect this is why the CCP is so interested in Reddit. They got along fine with the Trump crime family, even when there were various gestures against China by Trump over the years. There was never an economic impact on China (eg. they bought soybeens from Russia after Trump cut off the supply, which was something he did for Russia). China and Russia want Reddit's data, and to have an influence on Reddit. I doubt China worried about /r/The_Donald.

Banning r/the_donald was not an attack against Trump himself, but an attack against the American People! It was an offensive against free speech; it was a clear message that they have the power to censor those who do not obey, and are more than willing to do so.

Although Trump was the most anti-CCP President we've ever had, his ties with the illegitimate government in Beijing are quite troublesome — and could potentially explain why he's been all bark and no bite. He couldn't even ban a spyware app — he couldn't even facilitate its willing Americanization!

It's most certainly the case that Beijing seeks to seize control of the media in order to spy on American citizens and infect the public discourse with the red plague. It's no secret that Reddit, TikTok, Discord, RiotGames, and many other dominions of Beijing don't respect their users's privacy and collect excessive amounts of information.

He said that you said that Suzy said that she didn't make out with Johnny at Ted's party but if you want to come to the sleepover anyway we're going to be putting whipped cream in each other's training bras.
