Not surprising. Last year, early summer, was by far the biggest mass ban in reddit history. Multiple people I know of had all their accounts perma suspended, even ones they made and never posted from.

Me. I'm not sure how they even found my accounts, I'm behind TOR all the time. Same story for a few other people I know. I didn't even get an explanation, just "breaking the rules" and when I asked what I did a very high up admin who spies on WRD all the time (I was a mod there) just told me to fuck off and don't even think about coming back.

scared me for a bit, but like other said reddit can still trace and ban your acccount if you're using TOR. but they can't find you IRL if you are careful enough not to use a compromised email.

How can they connect your accounts with each other if they can't trace you irl? They've never been able to before and so far as I know no other website has either.

they can ban the specific account. otherwise, there are digital fingerprints and such.

I thought it was designed to not leave fingerprints?
Also, they even tracked accounts I made and only logged into on other peoples' networks, with their devices, so it can't be all fingerprinting. Somehow even the automatic mechanism was able to catch these. I don't see how it's possible unless they have access to some sort of advanced technology not announced to the public yet.

yeah tor is probably good for most fingerprinting methods. good call.
