Typically the modfags over at reeeddit use browser extensions such as "mass tagger" which assign flairs to users based on their comment history. That's probably what happened in the surfing subreddit scenario

Well they must be really confused at me. I post everywhere. But I did get a nonsense auto-ban from some feminist forum claiming I violated a rule about 'harming' them because I explained that I wanted to answer one of their poster's honest questions, but this required a free speech platform like Saidit.

Doesn't matter. One single post in a subreddit that has blacklisted in Masstagger and you're registered as a far right Nazi in their database. No way to contest this or to get yourself removed.
