This is the heaviest fingerprinting I've ever seen. They're even guessing at browser extensions. RIP your old shit phone doing 2 seconds of js execution for every page load.

Your phone can sell data on your finger prints?

Oh yeah. I don't know how often it happens though. I think Google and Facebook and the other big guys are more involved with that stuff. I've never heard about particular mobile companies being more or less privacy respecting than others.

All their shady behavior seems to be coming out all at once. :o

150 million dollars from China will do that.

Yeah, seems like they will try to email their accounts and send fbi tips to your account. TFW reddit doesn't even provide anonymous identity. You could never post your personal info on that site and they would still be able to dox you.

Can you explain this in simple terms please

Twitter has been doing this BS for months.

"You're account locked, please enter you social security number to unlock it"

i was wondering how reddit was able to ban many of my accounts. the ones i've never even used. they banned one account for supposedly breaking the rules. however all i did was expose one of the shill mods on watchredditdie as an AHS shill and bam, got banned. then they started banning all my other accounts. i had ublock and privacy badger installed on my browsers, used private window (chromium browser). still accounts kept getting banned. then i created new ones, with a new browser (firefox) and those started getting banned too. even though i also use VPN all the time. have no idea how. probably using fingerprintings like my fonts or something. if anyone can shine any clues on this would be great. i even started using noscript to disable javascript to not show the system fonts. still these fucks would ban anything new i created.

They are good at this but FWIW if you create a new account it will not be banned. They do sweeps and ignore future account creation.

i've created a few new accounts and they all got banned within a couple weeks. i think because i used the same browser to create those as the other ones. i'm going to create some more accounts using a laptop this time for a different fingerprint and then use tor browser with them on my other computer. should be good i hope.

Also, if you have mobile data on your phone it's a foolproof alternative

      [–]konoplya 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

      how do you mean exactly?

      [–]Raavan 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Totally different IP address, while at the same time not being a VPN or tor exit node

      [–]konoplya 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

wouldn't the phone IP link directly to me though?

      [–]Raavan 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That is true, yes. It is a downside. Hadn't thought of that.

Perhaps try different browsers, and even maybe spoof your user agent. My favourites are Waterfox and Palemoon, with Classic Theme Restorer for Waterfox, and for all the others, the old XUL versions of Tree Style Tab, Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar, and Tab Mix Plus. Also, remember uBlock and NoScript. This will make you look a bit more like me, actually, while also giving you a really nice browsing experience. I also recommend adding a few different preferred languages in your settings, for each account, since this is sent in your user agent. Remember to use a different IP address and configuration for each one! Or, maybe try making only one, and posting only really boring acceptable things in subreddits like /r/aww.

      good info man. thanks

btw. how do you add preferred languages?

      [–]happysmash27 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Sorry for the delay. It is in Preferences -> Content -> Languages.

uBlock Origin blocked 18 reddit scripts within three seconds. As links are clicked more scripts are run. Data must cost almost nothing to grab from visitors computers.

I second this. I understand I should be angry but that's about it.

I'm guessing here too, but it's probably that they fingerprint your browser so if you pull some alt accounts they can get rid of all of them. Maybe even hold back all the bots for a while. Or maybe dox you if steve cuckman doesn't like you. Ok that last one is a bit extreme and probably untrue.

Noscript browser extension, I'd imagine, though it would break a few features of the website. No guarantees though.

They all use unique identifiers to identify users which is essentially digital "fingerprinting" anyway
