It's ironic that russian social media sites are nowadays like pillars of free speech compared to Reddit and other Western social media. You know you fucked up as democracy when even shithole autocracies don't persecute wrongthink as hard as you do.

Throughout history, all the great leaders who accomplished great things for and with their nations, were all more or less dictators. Representative democracy is simply a system that ensures the status quo. As such, you can call Putin what you like, a ruthless thug, a murderer, whatever. But he has a vision for his country, and he is leading his nation to that vision. Yes, ruthlessly. But I feel he is doing A LOT OF GOOD for Russia. About time that nation got a decent leader, too.

Name even an achiever in modern politics and I will show you a ruthless criminal. It can't be avoided: Politics is a nest of vipers. The only way to survive and endure is to strike first.
