Only 92? I'm so mad about how they drowned /r/WallStreetBets in the last 3 months. Like seriously? You're going to make a discussion about stock options political? Not surprising but it was the last thing keeping me there...

Or they want to suppress the possibility of public knowledge about insider trading, etc.

Follow the money.

Good call bro.

Why not just use ZH for that topic?

[–]Tom_Bombadil 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

What's ZH?

ZeroHedge.com - home of every conspiracy-nut theory including some right out of Illuminatus!

That makes sense.

Interesting discussion on hackernews about reddit and its core problems

A less known fact is that /r/The_Donald was created and moderated by a group loosely called “Nolibs” that have been pushing pro-Israel, pro-police propaganda for years through thousands of sock puppet accounts. They were in control of various subreddits and were heavily agenda driven.

It all fell apart for them a year or two ago though when they had internal problems and one of them came clean.

Their antics were closely followed on the subreddit /r/NoLibsWatch.

He's OUR guy...

Banned on the Donald thrice.

Once for mentioning Saudi Arabia weapon deals, another for mentioning Trump and connections to Mossad and another for mentioning some of his friends who were involved in 9/11 cover-up.

Mention Israel in a bad light and they will ban you, but then cry about how "liberals" censor.

Every single time...

Multiple forums have spawned from The_Donald, and not all of them have the same point of view. I'm in several.

But Trump is pro-Israel, so a sub that advertises itself as being for pro-Trumpers only is also going to be pro-Israel, and it's silly for anyone to object to that.

So the pattern is, Create major centralized hub for viral marketing like:

facegag twitter reddit

Harass, censor, filter, algorithmically deny use of said platform to those working against the agenda of the ownership cult/capital management group/zionism.

Create alternative sites that appear to offer a safe space for such content, appealing to different subsets, dividing all of the unwanted into categories.

saidit- people who want real debate voat- people who want to talk about racism raddle- anarchists and socialists stormfront- outright Nazis

Once everyone is divided, fill those sites with 90% shills, and focus down anyone posting any real content outside of the same overton window, or analyzing the propaganda frameworks with any degree of effectiveness

Eespecially these people, who are going to force the government psychops themselves to provide a platform for anti-agenda content, which of course the government does not want to pay for.

Pattern: all of the admin teams for these alt sites give appearances of being there for moderation, believing in the core concepts, say they hate reddit, but are actually semi-afk, play dumb when the unwanted people get harassed and hit with every obnoxious shill tactic in the book.

Any actual source of information or resistance to these fake alternatives, that are really elaborate traps, gets ddos'd to the point no one can afford the hosting, and cloudflare and excessive capcha(also google btw) are required. And then various legal measures, require flagging of this or that, copyright hassles, etc etc etc.

And in this way the mass media mainstream narrative is maintained, and any actually capable writer or journalist, who SHOULD be in the mainstream is denied and audience, income, and existence in society, and eventually if not immediately encounters pretexting undercovers in their life, sabotage of their tech, stalking, and worse.

This is the propaganda model of our time, and I am demonstrating it for anyone who knows how to read, and catching hell for it, in real time.

If that's why reddit is such a target of attack, we may just need to make independent blogs multiply, effectively re-creating the BBS. Please don't tell me I'm the only one on saidit old enough to remember those.

It is possible to beat the cancellers, but any organization that isn't dedicated from the get-go to keeping the SJWs out will eventually be ruled by them and run into the ground.

So I wasn't the only one noticing that It's hard to find REAL free speech platforms on internet...

I don't think we'll see a reddit replacement as they're all subject to the same dilemma of increased userbase equals increased attention from shills. I suspect that those with valuable knowledge will form smaller communities in the vein of forums of old and the rest will be left with meme boards. Torrent communities seem a good example of this in practice.

[–]RatMan29 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think we will, but a reddit replacement can't really be for everyone who used to be on reddit. Some just don't use controversial groups, others agree with the assholes from AHS who have led the charge to ruin reddit. We will need to blacklist the AHS people, at least from moderating.

Only ones that make it are the ones that get name dropped in comments. "Make it" as in get more than 2 subs to it. Lots of crossposting needs to be done too and such. It is hard to get off the ground, the major subs just cast shadow on everything and they know this. I used to find a lot of my subs by following that one sub that has an addon that blocks content from certain subs. I would go to the subs they blocked lol

    [–]magnora7[S] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I got my /r/magnora7 subreddit to have 2000 subscribers, but it was over months by writing interesting articles, took a LOT of work over years. It's more of an archive that people happened to subscribe to
