The controlled opposition has to be able to build momentum, or it doesn't work.

The whole point of tricking people in to thinking we have democracy is to make it extremely close, so they feel like they almost had it. That's enough to placate people for another 4 years.

If things were too corrupt too early, then people might have time to revolt in meaningful ways. It has to be a surprise on the day of election, always something like 51% to 49%. So close! Every time.

This is why shitty fake democracies will have elections where one guy wins like 99% of the vote. Obviously rigged voting. This creates revolt pressure. Smart fake democracies have the guy winning 50.1% of the vote. Then it seems like the people almost had the chance at having control, when they really didn't.

It's like bull fighting and waving the red cloth. We are the bull, and the military-industrial-banking complex is waving the red cloth of politics in our faces. We keep falling for it, thinking we're addressing something substantial, but in the end there is only a facade of importance that captures our focus and fury, while those in power continue their activities unabated.

good take. I also just went into that reddit and said I thought this iowa thing was showing the primary tried to be rigged, got hit with 20 bot downvotes so I guess it's still essentially anti bernie, probably just tried setting up some pro reddit posts to make it look close like you say. Not that reddit is all of the USA just a microcosm, a mirror.

His campaign astroturfs like crazy. Take LOTS of screenshots, especially the day Bernie loses. You'll see the sub flip to Biden/Bloomberg overnight.

bernie campaign astroturfs? Haha laughable compared to biden, buttgieg, hillary in 2016. Could be true tho but if bernie astroturfs why didn't he in 2016. I do agree we will see a flip overnight. Just found it odd it seems like a flip to support bernie right now.

The subreddit mods there are basically brainwashed by CNN. Might be one mod who secretly likes watching Fox news.

CNN has changed their minds about Bernie whenever the wind blows a different direction. The dems really want Biden to win. Sadly, he's too creepy and unrelatable to the younger dem voters. Dude was caught sniffing the hair of girls half his age. Multiple times. The debates happen and he's looking around like he got lost and wondered on stage. Dude looks like he doesn't want to be there compared to Bernie "I wrote the damn bill" Sanders. Dems want Biden because he'll tow the party line. Bernie terrifies them because he has said he would be willing to negotiate with both parties to help educate the next generation of Americans.

That's a big no-no for the dems. You don't give an inch. Doesn't matter if you're helping the American public or not.

At the same time, they can't publicly denounce Bernie. Backlash from the "So, why do you hate women?" bullshit they tried to pull on him live on TV proved that wouldn't work.

The dems would rather have Bernie than Trump. Learned their mistake after choosing Hillary over Bernie last time.

That being said, they would really prefer Mr. Do Nothing Biden they can easily control as a puppet.

The mods on reddit are just as confused as the rest of the public. It's a really weird election cycle. One minute they're calling Bernie evil the next minute they're saying Bernie isn't that bad of a guy. Mods are trying their best to keep up with the doublespeak.

Personally, I think Biden would be so bad enough for the country I'd rather vote Trump. I'd prefer to vote for Bernie, but if forced to choose between Biden and Trump I'm voting Trump all the way.

with this iowa nonsense it looks like Pete is the new chosen one. Did he pay off the shadow app but forgot to pay off reddit? Is the paycheck to the mods there in the mail bot not in accounts yet so for the time being it's organic? Right now looking at r/politics it looks like they have censored pro bernie talk again, but I don't see pro pete stuff, instead it is just orange man bad stuff for now.

dems definitely perfer trump to bernie, Hillary lost on purpose, rich just wanted cover for tax cuts for the rich and tax rises for the middle class which trump did. Other than that all the same policies as obama.

I agree with you, except with their intent. You see malicious strategizing, I see unbelievable levels of delusional arrogance resulting in gross incompetence. I don't think they intended to lose. They just refused to see reality (that some people may disagree with them) and it finally bit them in the ass.

Just because someone disagrees with an opinion doesn't make them unintelligent... and for someone strange reason the Democrats have refused to acknowledge that for the last 15 years. Something happened during Obama's presidency that really fucked up the party.

I would not be surprised if pete wins primary thru rigging, I had thought biden, I just know there is zero chance bernie is allowed to win it, he'd actually win based on popular votes, and win rust belt swing states so he'd win electoral college as well. DNC, owned by rich, will never allow it, they would rather have trump in. I suppose they'd like Pete instead as Dems like obama always have better cover to cut social security, repubs get criticized for it too much. But I think they are fine with Trump.

?

I think they are fine with Trump.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Can't imagine they'd shoot themselves in the foot 2 terms in a row, but they are acting incredibly erratic as of late. Damn paper ripping on TV is the first time in awhile the cracks have begun to show.

paper ripping on tv seems just for show. Behind the scenes and with little paper she did not rip up the patriot act, she approved it and sent it on to senate to approve and for trump to sign. I remember repubs pretending to hate Obama but then they are buddy buddy behind the scenes. They'd rather have trump than bernie but I am sure the elites would not mind pete, biden or warren. Or trump, either way you win, in this way they have nothing to fear, and let americanws play in the election sandbox and the TV networks can get ratings if it looks close and have funny sound bites like paper ripping or trump's funny tweets.
