Sending aid to Puerto Rico. Turns out, the local government stashed it an a warehouse and didn't distribute it.

You see this a lot with third world shitholes. If the US government rides to the rescue, it makes local elites look like assholes. They don't want to lose their power, so they'll refuse to distribute aid. The can and have starved people to death while aid marked A GIFT FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE rots in warehouses.

Puerto Rico is an American colony (territory is the euphemism).

Puerto Ricans are all American citizens.

There is shit on the streets and a sharp divide between the wealthy who live behind walls and the poor. That's what third world countries look like. You don't think they're all mud and holes in the ground where people shit, do you? There are nice areas too, from Haiti to Niger to Haight-Ashbury.

Trump was right to not send aid to Puerto Rico because he said it would be wasted. The aid that was sent was wasted. Trump was right.

Also, SF is no more third world any average American inner city was before Bill Clinton became President. Anyone who thinks so should visit Varanasi.

Then he was actually wrong, because he did send it...

If he wanted to do it right, then he would have sent it and publically stated what was sent and when. This would have undermined the ability of oportunistic characters to hide/steal these goods, and they would have a better chance of helping those in need.

This is not a zero-sum gain situation.

Harming Puerto Rico harms American interests.

Puerto Ricans are American citizens.
