Most A lot of reddit is actually pretty balanced. I've made it my goal to find some of the tweeners that are still skating by. Wall Street Bets, Bert Strips, Dirt Bag Center. You can still sometimes get downvoted to oblivion for say the "wrong" thing at the "wrong" time but there's also plenty of reasonable people still there.

It's the mods, the admins, and the mob mentality that make it truly miserable.

Sending aid to Puerto Rico. Turns out, the local government stashed it an a warehouse and didn't distribute it.

You see this a lot with third world shitholes. If the US government rides to the rescue, it makes local elites look like assholes. They don't want to lose their power, so they'll refuse to distribute aid. The can and have starved people to death while aid marked A GIFT FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE rots in warehouses.

Puerto Rico is an American colony (territory is the euphemism).

Puerto Ricans are all American citizens.

There is shit on the streets and a sharp divide between the wealthy who live behind walls and the poor. That's what third world countries look like. You don't think they're all mud and holes in the ground where people shit, do you? There are nice areas too, from Haiti to Niger to Haight-Ashbury.
