they got a warning from reddit saying that people posting the name off the whistle blower were guilty of "harassment and vigilantism"

they said they had removed dozens of posts and threatened "further consequences for your subreddit" if the posting of his name continued

Holy shit... At least now I can stop reminding people that Reddit quarantined /r/911truth when they try to make excuses for Reddit's behavior.

Maybe Reddit thought this was safer than doing it for no reason at all sometime closer to the 2020 election.

They finally ended up removing the bit about threatening violence against police forces. That was the most ridiculous part of that warning for anyone that's ever been part of that subreddit.

yeah it kind of did. you know that whole 'let's just do what the admins told us explicitly not to do 'cause we're ten year olds' attitude is what's gonna do it in. and good riddance too.
