Some readers may be wondering what a "peer-reviewed" study is. After a paper has been received by a leading academic journal, the journal will send out copies of the paper to people considered experts in that field. If comments on the submitted paper are favorable, the journal will most likely publish it. Sometimes peer reviewing does not work the way it should. See the Sokal Hoax for more information about a parody paper on the subject of postmodernism that was published by a Duke University journal.

I think peer-review is one of the worst systems to distinguish good science from bad science.
It encourages group think, group-bias, gang-forming, etc.

Here is a systematic way to investigate the truth about things:

I wasn't recommending the system but just explaining it for anyone who might need it. In my opinion academia is a complete mess and likely to get worse.
