If you want to use 32-bit software, don't use Ubuntu. Not much to it. :P

True. But I do wonder if it'll affect gaming on the platform and how many legacy applications haven't been ported to 64-bit yet...And I've just switched from an Arch-based distro to a Ubuntu/Debian based one. Oh well...

Nothing wrong with Ubuntu, just a matter of preference. For someone who’s a gamer, and doesn’t want to deal with Windows, they may want to use a distro that’s “cutting edge”, such as an Arch-based distro (Manjaro for example). For the average person, a Debian based distro (Ubuntu or Linux Mint for example) will be good enough.
