I have use LM for a number of years and think it's a good distro. In my home network I have it installed on a couple of systems. When it comes to desktop, 98% Linux 2% Windows 7, I have been using MX-Linux for several years and really like it. While the 2 distros are very similar, MX has a lot of system tools baked in that I think are very useful.

Same here! We share that in common then. I'm using Linux Mint 12 on one machine where I edit videos. On this old notebook I am using to type this, I am using Linux Mint 17. Both have performed well for me.
