If this story were actually true, programmers would go in and remove that nonsense.

That is something that you can do with Linux that you cannot do with win or Mac.

Isn't that correct?

Agreed it is highly likely this is fake news.

I am a c programmer, tho I have never climbed under the hood and fiddled with any code at the operating system level.

The understanding that I have always had about pretty much any Linux distribution is that I am able to modify or entirely replace any part of the operating system, if I am so enthusiastic.

No Linux programmers would ever in a million years release a distribution of Linux that generates ads, especially at the shell level.

I always enjoyed writing C language code at the shell and compiling using gcc.

My preference was to use the nano editor, because vi was just too cryptic for me.

I have personally written c programs from scratch that contained 25k lines of code.

    Regards.

My first c compiler was the Microsoft quickC for dos in 1991.

Two years later, I caught an eight month jail sentence, and while locked up I wrote a database manager program for a client by hand on paper, it was 43.5 legal pad pages long(double spaced).. it allowed functions to create record, edit record, save record, search for record and delete record. It filtered and processed all keyboard keys, and handled backspace and delete and all four arrow keys.

I mailed it to my client from the jail, he keyed it in and compiled it, and it was flawless.

He paid me fifty bucks per week while I was in jail, that's the most you can spend in the jail commissary, and he also paid me a $1,500.00 bonus the day I got out.

And I went straight back to a life of crime... I pocketed $12k within about ten days, bought myself six suits and ties and shirts and shoes($7,500.00) and a very nice looking replica submariner Rolex.

      Fast forward to the present...

I have been burning my fingers to the bone writing a forex bot for eighteen years.. my combined losses exceed $30k.

      Trades are open.

If it is there, which I was not expecting, is a sign to me that the "woke" brigades have infiltrated the Ubuntu development teams.

      This is bad news.

I have never really hung out with Linux programmers, but it just seems to go against the grain of what I think Linux os developers are trying to do.

        I could be entirely wrong.

It kinda looks that way.. I am sure that both apple and Microsoft and Google would probably like for Linux to disappear.
